Lauritzen Kosan expands its fleet
Lauritzen Kosan A/S, together with Exmar has come to an agreement with Far East Shipping of Tokyo to acquire its fleet of small pressurised LPG carriers consisting of one 3,200 cubic metres, eight 3,500 cubic metres and two 5,000 cubic metres.
Deliveries will take place during June 2004. The vessels will be employed in the Exmar Kosan pool which was established in 2002 as a joint venture between Exmar NV of Belgium and Lauritzen Kosan A/S. The Exmar Kosan pool is operating from Hong Kong.
Upon the completion of above transaction Lauritzen Kosan A/S will be engaged in the ownership or the commercial management of 59 gas carriers in the sizes from 1,600 to 7,000 cubic metres, a market segment where the company plays a leading role.
Lauritzen Kosan is wholly-owned by Danish J. Lauritzen A/S domiciled in Copenhagen.
