Sharp focus on safe management
Lauritzen Kosan is committed to achieving strict compliance with
increasingly rigorous vetting requirements. We make it a top priority to
ensure safe management and that our ships and crews meet or exceed ISM and
ISPS requirements for human, cargo and environmental safety and security.
The Zero Remarks vetting programme, implemented on a trial basis in 2006,
is helping us achieve these goals by giving all our ships’ crew members an
incentive to participate fully in safe-management efforts. The programme
provides a bonus to the crew’s welfare account for all vessels that meet
Zero Remarks criteria. This is a significant benefit – the money can be
used for anything from video games to karaoke systems to sports equipment –
and the first months of the programme have indicated that it is a very
effective tool for achieving excellent vetting results.
